Saturday February 25, 2012
Aurora Memorial Library
1:30pm

Elementary school students are invited to an Antarctic Adventure at the Aurora Memorial Library on Saturday, February 25, at 1:30 p.m.  Natalie Harr, first grade teacher at Crestwood Primary School in Mantua, will share a PowerPoint slide show of her recent trip to the Antarctic’s Palmer Station as part of a research team studying polar insects.  Participants will enjoy viewing photos of the unique landscape and wildlife of this coldest continent on earth, and will have an opportunity to ask Harr questions about her experiences.  Refreshments will be served.

This program is open to children in kindergarten through fifth grade and their families, and registration is preferred.  To sign up, go to www.portagelibrary.org and select “Library Programs.” In preparation for the event, children can make a penguin craft in the children’s area of the library during the week of February 20th.
