Miss Natalie Harr
An Antarctic Blog
Dear Students, Community Members, Educators, and Global Science Enthusiasts...

The countdown is on...  In exactly 30 days, I will embark on a trip of a lifetime.  I will be traveling to Palmer Station, Antarctica as a member of Dr. Lee's 2012 Antarctic Research Team.  I am proud to represent the first elementary teacher ever invited on the team.   Our five member team will depart in late December and travel 8, 000 miles by both air and ship to reach the southernmost continent in the world.  While there, we will conduct research on the largest land animal in Antarctica...any guesses?   I will also be leading the team's educational outreach program, which will target our youngest and most impressionable learners.  I want to thank all my fellow teachers, administrators, and community members for their support of the Crestwood-Antarctica Connection.

Hold on tight...let the adventure begin!

Nature Detective Challenge:  Locate all seven continents.  Find the southernmost continent in the world.  Would you want to visit there?  Why or why not?
