Natalie, these pictures are absolutely amazing! Not too many people can say they've been to Anarctica, yet alone be afforded such an incredible opportunity. You have worked so hard and deserve every bit. I am sooooo proud of you and all that you've been able to accomplish! Keep up the great work and please be safe.
Love,
Diana

This was actually really interesting to try to find the pictures within the larger picture. Some of them were kind of difficult to find right away and took an extra minute to find but I think this is a great tool to use in a classroom. It allow students to not only look at the big picture but look at different aspects: what all does it contain? There is more to a picture than the eye can see from a first look. Zoom is a wonderful tool!

I loved finding all of the challenges in this gigapan. The picture was amazing to look at and I can only imagine how even more amazing it was to be looking at it in person. (And cold) I want to travel to different places one of these days and seeing your pictures and reading your blog has made Antarctica one of those places. It looks like you had a wonderful experience.

I think this is great for students to be able to look at! there are many students that will never have the chance to go to different places like this and it is a great tool to be able to incorporate in the classroom! I love how this challenge encourages them to really look into the image! Thanks for sharing this with us!

This is a really cool way for students to explore an area or the world that many will never get the opportunity to see in person. I enjoyed looking for the different pictures within the pictures. This type of gigapan activity could be used for so many other subjects besides science. Thank you for sharing!

I found it really interesting however challenging to look for the items in this post. I think this is awesome to show in a classroom, especially for students who can not view these images, will not be able to travel, or are limited to resources at home. I think this is a great experience to view and know these are experiences that an individual has actually had!

This was fun to get engaged in an image in a different way. Not only were we looking at the image for fun, but we were looking at different aspects of the image that were important. Students would love an activity like this.

I really liked the idea of creating a virtual scavenger hunt using the gigapan images. When first looking at the picture one can only see the larger picture, but once you zoom in more and more you can see the tiny details that were not apparent otherwise. I think this is a great technique to incorporate in science lessons at all grades!

What a beautiful picture! I can see how students would love the scavenger hunt aspect of trying to find all of the challenges (some of which took a little while!). I think that this tool could be used in so many different ways, but I love that part of this is being able to share this location and experience with students! Thanks for sharing!
